I am a born and raised Texan, and I am loyal...B U T, Colorado holds a special place in my heart and has since I was a little girl. My family would vacation just about every year there in the Rockies, and my love for the state came from those great family vacations. Estes Park, Golden, Colorado Springs, Winterpark, Lyons - you name it, I've been there, and out of them all Estes Park is a big favorite. This past weekend I was lucky enough to go back to Colorado and attend my nephew's wedding. Is there a better place to take your vows - facing the mountains on a crisp Colorado morning? If you haven't been to Colorado, go. Take many trips and really explore - take the state in and see if you don't agree with me. Attached are some photos for enjoyment!

Thanks...
Why do you think we appreciate it more just visiting? Do you think it's a case of if you live there, it isnt that big a deal after a while? Maybe you are right. I have lived in Texas my whole life and I don't see much at all that makes me appreciate nature here. Maybe that's why? ha! Write comment

This old boy misses the heck out of the Rockies. The rest of Colorado leaves a bit to be desired though. Moved back to McKinney last year after a seven year absence. Two kids and three grand kids, all up here in N. Texas, so we had to come back. Had been here from '89-'01. Retired from EDS in '99. Wife retired from the Bill Bates Cowboy Ranch in '01.
Lived in Colorado from '63-'78 - Wheat Ridge, Lakewood, Aurora, Broomfield, Longmont, Boulder and Craig. Graduated HS in '64. Surveyed the Continental Divide with BLM before enlisting in the Army. Got married in '68 and drug my Georgia bride to Colorado. She birthed three children there. We got tired of the shoveling and sold out to move to Georgia.
Our last visit to the Rockies was in '95 with two of our kids. Landed in Glenwood Springs for a few days visit with my wife's cousin and his wife. They almost talked us into moving back, but alas, business called.
Beautiful pictures you posted. Lots of memories. Thanks.
All the best,
